tamiko thiel and teresa reuter are the primary collaborators on the artist team t+t. their work crosses the boundaries not only of art, design and technology, but also of politics, history and culture. tamiko thiel und teresa reuter, die initiatorinnen des künstlerinnen teams t+t sind seit jahren im künstlerischen bereich tätig und verbinden in ihrer arbeit nicht nur kunst, design und technologie, sondern auch politik, geschichte und wissenschaft. “the virtual reality artwork “virtuelle mauer / reconstructing the wall” investigates the impact of the berlin wall, which divided west and east berlin during the cold war from august 13th, 1961 to November 9th, 1989. a digital reconstruction of a segment of the dismantled berlin wall and its surrounding neighborhoods creates a place of rememberance that users can explore in order to to experience and reflect on this historical time. das vr-kunstwerk “virtuelle mauer / reconstructing the wall” verfolgt das ziel, die auswirkungen der berliner mauer, die von 1961 bis 1989 west-berlin von ost-berlin trennte, zu untersuchen. zu diesem zweck haben wir einen teilbereich der demontierten berliner mauer digital rekonstruiert und stellen einen erinnerungsraum zur verfügung, der es ermöglicht, diese vergangenheit zu erforschen.”

presentation: the installation is shown before the talk starts as an interactive 3d computer projection, a life-sized image of the historical reality. users will move through and explore the 3d world of the artwork with a simple-to-use joystick. die präsentation: die installation wird vor dem gespräch als interaktive projektion gezeigt, ein lebensgroßes bild der historischen realität. mittels eines einfach zu bedienenden joysticks kann man sich durch die 3d-welt des kunstwerks bewegen.
